Dr. Leonard Steingo is a cardiologist who practices at the Morningside Mediclinic in Sandton, South-Africa.
He obtained his medical degree at Witwatersrand university, became a specialist physician and then a certified cardiologist.
He became a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology in 2010.
He is past president of the South African Heart Association, past president of the Johannesburg branch of the society and is currently on the committee and treasurer of COSASA. He has been involved in many cardiovascular research trials as principal and sub investigator.
These trials have been involved with coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure and has been and still is in involved in many trials monitoring the heart in patients receiving new chemotherapeutic drugs.
Dr. Steingo’s special interests have been echocardiography and invasive cardiology. He is a general cardiologist with many years of experience treating patients with a wide range of cardiovascular diseases and has a special interest in assessing and treating patients receiving cancer treatment (cardio oncology) .
